With the stress of a new job and getting over bipolar NY weather, a weekend getaway to Miami was a must for me. From the sand, sun, shopping and DELICIOUS food, Miami has all the necessities for a girls weekend. No wonder us New Yorkers have a reputation for being snowbirds, the sunshine state is a beach party that we all want to crash.
I stayed at the Nobu Hotel in the Eden Roc, which is a classic South Beach hotel that has a history of famous visitors, such as, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Nat King Cole, and Elizabeth Taylor. Since it was my first time in the city, it was definitely cool to see the combination of the new and old Miami.
I took the trip with my mom as an early Mother’s Day gift, and for us working girls to get some much needed R&R. Our first night there we went to Cecconi’s at the Soho Beach House, which had great Italian food (also, great vegan and gluten free options) and a beautiful patio that looked like Pottery Barn threw up everywhere. I highly recommend the lobster spaghetti and the vegan chocolate cake. YUM! We then finished off the night with drinks at the Delano which is beyond beautiful and has a brunch to die for.
The next day the weather wasn’t so great in the morning so we slept in, went to the gym and had lunch at Nobu. Thankfully the sun came out later so we were able to spend a couple of relaxing hours by the pool, and then went to dinner at Bagatelle. Shout out to my cousin Marissa who designed it because it was so cool in there and the food was amazing.
We didn’t stay long enough to dance on the tables because, it was Cinco de Mayo and we wanted to celebrate accordingly. So, we jumped in an Uber and went over to Bodega. From the dancing on the bar to the tequila shots, the night was a blur and wrapping up the celebrations with a nightcap at SLS was the perfect way to end the holiday.
To finish up the weekend, Saturday was beautiful so we just hung by the beach and had dinner at Tatel. Tatel is a restaurant that was opened up by Enrique Inglesias and pro tennis player Rafael Nadal. The traditional Spanish cuisine and the cocktails are worth checking out.
My favorite part of the vacation was getting to break out my summer wardrobe. Tularosa has been my favorite label for this season. From their adorable swimsuits to their sundresses, I am in love. Their pieces are easy to take from day to night, and are super comfortable. Another one of my favorite labels is For Love and Lemons. The quality is amazing and the dresses are super flirty, fun and comfortable. To check out more of their collection, click here.
